The Land Trust organizes educational activities of interest to the young and the young at heart. In the company of an expert in a specialized field, participants explore the Mt. Pinnacle Interpretation Trails while learning about specific characteristics of the soils, flora and fauna of the region. The Land Trust also organizes conferences on nature conservancy and other ecological subjects.

2011 is the 20th Anniversary of the Pinnacle Land Trust

This anniversary coincides with International Year of the Forests and special activities have been planned.

July 17: The annual benefit luncheon will take place at the enchanting Clos Saragnat, 100 Richford Road in Frelighsburg at 12.30 p.m. This year conservation easements will be featured and Micheline Lanctôt will recount her family's recent experience in this regard. A door prize has been generously donated by the Fondation de la faune du Québec. Please reserve before July 1; tickets are $100.

October 2: Celebrate our 20th Anniversary in Colour. The Pinnacle Mountain interpretation trails will be specially opened to the public for a day of activities in
conjunction with Appalachian Corridor appalachien (ACA). A biologist will be present to discuss the preservation of endangered forest species. Details to follow.

General information or individual meetings will be held on the subject of
conservation easements for property owners of the Mount Pinnacle region who wish to consider the advantages of protecting their property in perpetuity.

Our educational activities will continue as in previous years:

L’herbier du Pinacle, an environmental educational program for elementary school children in the area, offered by Isabelle Gregoire in partnership with the Land Trust and participating schools. This program includes educational and scientific workshops and a visit to our interpretation trails, with the aim of sensitizing children to the beauty and fragility of nature and the importance of preserving our natural spaces.
